Proudly Independent, Always Patient-First
We believe caring for your eyes and vision should be about what is best for you, not for a corporation.
Our story
Our practice was founded in 1963 by Dr. Harry Fagedes, right in the heart of downtown Cincinnati on Vine Street. Dr. Harry was beloved for his warm, fun-loving spirit, and respected for his expertise in contact lens fitting. His work even helped shape contact lens designs that are still in use today. His leadership in the field extended beyond the practice as well, serving as President of the Ohio Optometric Association.
In time, Dr. Harry's daughter, Dr. Jennifer Fagedes, and her husband, Dr. John Garrity, joined the practice after graduating from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Together, they carried the practice forward, eventually taking the reins when Dr. Harry retired.
In January 2026, Dr. Jenna Stoffel became the new owner, continuing the legacy that began over six decades ago.
Driven by a commitment to you
Through every chapter of our story, one thing has never changed: our commitment to patient-centered eye care, free from the influence and pressures of corporate optometry. We believe independent, private practice optometry matters. It means your care is guided by your doctor's judgment, not a corporate agenda. It means more time with you, more personalized attention, and treatment decisions made with only your health and vision in mind.
As the eyecare industry continues to consolidate, we remain committed to staying independent, so that our patients always come first.
